John C. Palumbo

John C. Palumbo is an extension specialist and professor of entomology who studies vegetable crops at the University of Arizona Yuma Agricultural Extension Center. His primary role has been developing a translational research program to investigate the biology, ecology and management of pests associated with Arizona vegetable production.

Palumbo is a leading voice in the field of entomology, focusing on insect pest management and insect-crop interactions. He has worked alongside growers and pest control advisers in Arizona fields for most of his nearly 33-year career and has sought to help Southwestern growers become better informed and prepared to handle pest-related threats.

The John Palumbo Endowed Chair in Integrated Pest Management was established in 2020 in recognition of Palumbo's research and contributions to the Yuma community.
