Dr. Gabriel’s research focuses on emotions, motivation, interpersonal stressors, and well-being. Of these topics, she has made notable contributions in studying women’s health, motherhood, and their intersection with work, identifying how organizations can best support women. Dr. Gabriel’s research has been published in top journals in her discipline, and she regularly presents her research at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Academy of Management (AOM) conferences. Her work has also been featured by CNN, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Dr. Gabriel has received five early career awards, including the 2021 AOM Organizational Behavior Division Cummings Scholarly Achievement Award, the 2021 SIOP Distinguished Early Career Contributions-Science Award, the 2020 AOM Human Resources Division Early Career Award, the 2019 AOM Sage Publications/ Research Methods Division/Lawrence R. James Early Career Achievement Award, and the 2018 Western Academy of Management Ascendant Scholar Award. She also has received accolades for her work on women’s health, and was recognized in 2018 by Poets & Quants as a Top 50 Undergraduate Business School Professor.

She currently serves as an Associate Editor at Journal of Applied Psychology, one of the top management and industrial-organizational psychology journals.
