The University of Arizona will celebrate the Installation of Suresh Garimella as 23rd President on Tuesday, March 25. The ceremony will take place on the west side of Old Main and Centennial Hall starting at 1 p.m.

As you plan for next week, please consider the potential impacts on campus buildings and the flow of vehicle, bicycle, and foot traffic in reserved areas during this Presidential Event.

Tuesday, March 25 Noon-4 p.m. 

  • The Cat Tran stop at Old Main will be unavailable from 12 - 4 p.m.

  • Sound amplification will be conducted during the outside ceremony on the west side of Old Main between 12:45 - 1:30 p.m.

  • The areas west of Old Main at University and Park will be closed from 12 - 4 p.m.

  • The area east of Old Main to the Highland bike path will be restricted to a Walk Your Bike Zone. Bike and golf cart traffic is encouraged to avoid the area and use an alternate route.

  • Limited ADA Parking is available in Lot 5075 and Lot 5073 in addition to Tyndall Ave. Parking Garage.

  • Golf Cart service is available from Tyndall Ave. Parking Garage to Centennial and ​​including return trips. 

  • Eastbound bicyclists and golf cart traffic should travel south on Park Ave. from University Boulevard to 4th St. Then, head east on 4th St. before turning north on the Highland bike path toward the Mall.

  • Westbound bicyclists and golf cart traffic on University Boulevard should turn south on the Highland bike path from the Mall to 4th St. Then, travel west on 4th St. to Park Ave. See the map below for other alternate routes.
