Tammi Walker is an associate professor of law and psychology at the James E. Rogers College of Law. Dr. Walker develops research to support evidence-based decision-making using her experience as a litigator and her training as a research psychologist. Current projects include experimental evaluations of how universities address campus sexual misconduct, research designed to increase diversity within the legal profession, and the development of an impact-aware juvenile risk assessment tool.

Dr. Tammi Walker joined the University of Arizona in the Fall 2018 as an Associate Professor of Law and Psychology. Professor Walker is an experienced litigator and a trained research psychologist with an interest in procedural fairness and the administration of justice.

Professor Walker uses psychological theory and empirical research methods to challenge the validity of commonly held beliefs that often support legal decision-making. Her research is designed to improve outcomes by combating bias in treatment and punishment decisions. Professor Walker’s policy-changing work includes examinations of the procedures used to make juvenile delinquency decisions and the methods used by colleges and universities to adjudicate sexual misconduct cases.

Professor Walker received a PhD in Psychology from the University of Virginia and a JD from Columbia Law School. Prior to entering law teaching, Professor Walker clerked for the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
