2022 Distinguished Scholar Award
Associate Professor, Department of Physics
College of Science

Weigang Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Arizona. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Delaware in 2008. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University from 2008 to 2012. He joined the University of Arizona in 2012 and established the Spin-Lab. His research is focused on spintronics, which is a multidisciplinary field involving with physics, electrical engineering, materials science, and computer science & engineering. He is the receipt of an NSF CAREER award to study ultra-low energy switching in spin devices. Research in this direction may help to build new types of transistors that consume less energy in future generations of computers.
